WORRELL’S CONCERT BY THE RIVER
Our own Jay Boy Adams and Zenobia are playing a special Easter-weekend duo performance at Bill Worrell’s River Concert on Sat., March 26. The afternoon event will take place at Worrell’s art-filled property on the Llano River, just outside of Mason, Texas. The gates open at 1 p.m., and the music begins at 3 p.m. Bring a dish to share if you’re so inclined, or you can cook on site—grills and a fire-pit will be in place. BYOB, relax in a magical setting, and enjoy an intimate connection with your favorite musicians. HOUSE CONCERT: JENNIFER’S GARDENS IN AUSTIN
We’re coming to Austin for a “house concert,” and what a house this is! Jennifer’s Gardens is a magical site; we’ll be playing in the stone ampitheater at the historic Shoal Creek location of the floral designer and artist Jennifer Myers. Austin fans, you don’t want to miss this one! Showtime is 2 p.m.; there’s no cover, but donations to the band are strongly encouraged. Reserve your spot by RSVP-ing to this Facebook event.
WE’RE BACK IN HORSESHOE BAY!
We’re delighted to be playing the Annual Gala for the Phoenix Center of Marble Falls. This year’s “Blues on the Bay” party will be held on Sat., Feb., 20 at Quail Point in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., includes dinner and dancing. All proceeds will directly benefit the non-profit organization, which provides high-quality, affordable mental health care for children and families in need. ZENOBIA WINS N.M. RECORDING OF THE YEAR!
Congratulations to our very own Zenobia! On May 30, Lady Z. won the 2015 New Mexico Music Award for the best CD recorded in N.M. in 2014!!!! We’re so proud of this well-deserved honor for her album Resurrection. Here’s a photo of Zenobia and her musical partner Jay Boy Adams right after the ceremony. Congratulations, again Z.!!!!! We were honored to be among the performers at the 2015 New Mexico Music Awards banquet, and we want to thank everyone for a wonderful evening of music and community. Shout-outs to the organizers, Lynn-Marie Rusaw and Jose and Kathy Ponce, for the months of hard work that went into making this event possible. And kudos to all of the sound, light, video and photography folks who contributed to the evening’s success. JAY BOY ADAMS INDUCTED INTO WEST TEXAS WALK OF FAME!
In 2014, our very own Jay Boy Adams was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in Lubbock, Texas! Begun as a tribute to Buddy Holly in the late 70’s, the Walk of Fame’s previous inductees include Holly, Waylon Jennings, Mac Davis, Joe Ely, and a host of West Texas notables who have gained recognition in the promotion or production of the arts, music and/or entertainment. The induction ceremony took place at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, followed by a performance by Jay Boy Adams & Zenobia with Mister Sister. We’re so proud of you, Jay Boy!
